HYPOTHETICAL RECORDS
A SERIES OF ALBUM COVERS AND POSTERS, SPRING 2022
A STUDY OF THE INTERSECTION BETWEEN MUSIC AND DESIGN
These works are the result of a semester-long independent study with Prof. Steve Waksman on the visual identities of various movements, artists, labels, etc. in popular music. Using a combination of digital and traditional techniques, I created this series of designs for (mostly) hypothetical bands, albums, and events. They pay homage to Blue Note album covers, psychedelic posters from San Francisco in the 1960s, punk and riot grrrl zines. Some artists in particular, like Victor Moscoso, Andy Warhol, and Raymond Pettibon, were looked at in greater depth.
